The Turkish giant picketed Diant Ramaj a few hours before the transfer deadline

Ajax’s 22-year-old goalkeeper, Diant Ramaj, has attracted interest from the Turkish club Besiktas, as Daily Sabah reports.

Ramaj, who joined Ajax from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer for five million euros, performed well last season but has been overshadowed by 40-year-old Remko Pasveer under current coach Francesco Farioli.

This has brought disappointment to Ramaj, who is now considering a transfer.

In his first season at Ajax, Ramaj played 31 matches and kept five clean sheets. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2028, meaning Besiktas will have to pay a transfer fee to sign him.

The Turkish club, which is struggling with an aging goalkeeper selection – with Mert Gunok aged 35 and younger goalkeepers not yet convincing – considers Ramaj a valuable reinforcement.

The transfer market in Turkey closes tomorrow (September 13), leaving Besiktas little time to complete a deal for the new centre-back. /Football Match Up/
