Seven departures, only one approach: Barcelona’s situation in this transfer window so far

Barcelona are having another busy summer, where the Catalans have so far had more success with departures than new signings

There is still a full month left in the summer transfer window, when a lot can change, as the club has only concentrated on two approaches, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, for whom offers are ready.

Joan Laporta and Deco have so far only approached striker Pau Victor, who arrives from Girona in a €3 million deal.

The number of players who left is long, with seven players who have left the Camp Nou so far, and Barcelona have benefited from some of them.

Moroccan central defender Chadi Riad left Barça for Crystal Palace, where the Catalans received 10 million euros for the player. After him, Marc Guiu also left with Chelsea, who paid the striker’s release clause of 6 million euros.

From Abel Ruiz who left the Camp Nou for Braga more than four years ago, Barca secured a profit of close to €1m from the sell-on clause after Braga sold him to Girona in June.

Sergino Dest signed for PSV where, as with Ruiz, the club will keep a percentage of any future sales.

Marcos Alonso, Oriol Romeu and Sergi Roberto have left, as their contracts with the Blaugrana club have ended./Football Match Up/
