The legendary English footballer Gareth Barry, after four years in retirement, surprised the football world and returned to the game.
The man, who will be remembered as the player with the most appearances in Premier League history (653), this morning signed a contract with Hurstpierpoint, a club in England’s 11th division, and will play football at the age of 44 .
Gareth Barry ended his highly successful career in 2020 at West Bromwich Albion, but four years later he decided it was time to return to the football pitch.

Although it is debatable what physical shape he will be in, Barry will certainly be a boost for the 11th division team due to the quality of football played at that level, but also for the marketing aspect.
The move came about thanks to Barry’s friendship with trainer Michael Standing, who was his agent for a time during his career.
