Fenerbahce wants Mateo Kovacic as the next reinforcement and the news has been published by the two Turkish media Millyet and Takvim.
According to them, Fenerbahçe representatives have already started negotiations with Manchester City, which is already thinking of sending Kovacic on loan for a year.
Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who took charge of the team this summer, wants to deploy Kovacic alongside Brazilian Fred in the middle of midfield.
Mourinho is looking to return Fenerbahce to the title after missing more than ten years.
During his career, Kovacic has played for Dinamo Zagreb, Inter, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man City, where he spent last year playing 46 games, scoring three goals, assisting once and winning three trophies.
His contract with Man City runs until the summer of 2027.
