Tomorrow (Saturday) starting at 16:00, the final of the Community Shield will be played, where city rivals Manchester City and Manchester United will meet at Wembley.
Before this final, Pep Guardiola spoke, who, among other things, confirmed that he will not count on the services of four players for this meeting.
The Catalan technician has said that the trio of England, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and John Stones will be absent in this challenge and so will Rodri.
A number of players who were involved in Euro 2024 returned to training with the Citizens, including Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and Manuel Akanji.
“We should try to give them the best break possible. We would like more time, but we have given him a lot,” Guardiola initially said.
“All the players are back, the England players and Rodri will be back next week, we don’t have to think about the calendar.”
“What’s next, training sessions, step by step, next game, try to be smart to train with a certain deadline and be fresh.”
“So we will rotate as much as possible and match by match we will see what will happen”, he said.
Saturday’s clash will be the 194th official game between the two city rivals, as well as a replay of the last two FA Cup finals.
