Bayern pays the Stuttgart star’s release clause, formalization a matter of days

Bayern Munich have made the first move in the summer transfer window, strengthening the center of defense.

After a disappointing season that saw them finish without a trophy after being knocked out early from the German Cup and then missing out on the league title and being beaten in the semi-finals of the Champions League, Bayern are looking to return to a competitive side.

After agreeing the arrival of Germany and Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, who will move to Munich a year before his contract with the reigning champions expires, the Bavarians have already agreed another quality defensive reinforcement from the Bundesliga.

The Bavarians’ next transfer is Stuttgart’s Japanese centre-back Hiroki Ito.

Bild has reported that the German giant has paid the player’s clause which was 30 million euros and now has a personal agreement with the player.

The 25-year-old has been among the best defenders in the Bundesliga, until Stuttgart paid only 400,000 euros for his transfer.

The Japanese representative this season has played 29 matches with the Stuttgart shirt, being a leader in the center of defense.

German media have reported that the officialization of Ito as a new Bayern player is now a matter of days, if not hours. /Football Match Up/
